How to rip DVD movies and convert video files to PS3
Sony is clearly intent on making the PS3 the all-in-one hub for your home entertainment. A new list of media formats supported by the system right out of the box includes a variety of hard and digital formats.
The hard media has been known for some time, but here's the full list:
BD-ROM (data and BDAV), BD-R, BD-RE, DVD-ROM, DVD-R/DVD-RW (CPRM, VR mode included), DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW. Note that play-back of Blu-Ray movie titles is restricted by region codes. This measn that an Asian/U.S title cannot be reproduced in a European PS3.
Super Audio CD The PS3 will also allow you to access a variety of media file formats from the video, music and photo menus of the Cross Media Bar. These files are expected to can be be stored anywhere, including the hard disk and memory cards.

MUSIC: ATRAC (.oma .msa .aa3), AAC (.3gp .mp4), MP3 (.mp3), WAV (.wav)

In order to watch DVD movies and video files on PS3, you just need to get a program to help you rip the DVD movies and convert the video files to the video/audio formats accepted by PS3.

Below are the detailed steps about how to rip DVD movies and convert video files to PS3 using Clone2Go DVD Ripper:
Step 1. Import DVD movies and video files
Insert the DVD disc into the disc drive, click the "Open DVD" button to import it if you are going to watch a DVD movie on your PS3. Or if the DVD movie is saved as a folder on your computer, you need to click the "Add Video" button to locate that folder, which is composed of two separate folders: VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. From the VIDEO_TS folder, select the .vob file to import and then click "OK".
You can also import video files stored on your PC by clicking the "Add Video" button. The supporting formats are shown as follows:

Step 2. Choose the output format
From the drop-down list of "Profile", navigate to the "PSP,PS3" category. From the sub-category, you can choose the most appropriate output format.

Step 3. Start to encode
Now you can click the "Start Encode" button to starting ripping DVD movies and converting videos for your PS3.
Note: The output video files are easily available by clicking the "Folder" button on the main menu after the ripping/converting process is done.
Below are several additional tips:
Tip 1. Trim the video
If you only need a certain part of the DVD/video, you can drag the "Start to trim" and "Stop to trim" buttons to get the DVD/video clip after it is imported.
You can also specify the "Start Time" and "Stop time" at the bottom right panel of the interface (under "Profile").
Tip 2. Download YouTube videos
If you want to watch YouTube videos on your PS3, you can click the "YouTube" button on the main interface. In the pop-up window, copy and paste the URLs of the YouTube videos one by one.
Tip 3. Customize profile
If you are still not satisfied with the profile you choose, you can customize the parameters such as video codec, video size, video bitrate, video framerate, audio bitrate, audio sample rate, etc.
